Contact materials made of silver and silver alloys are indispensable when it comes to electrical contacts in low-voltage switching applications. Thanks to their excellent material properties, they are the starting products for an extensive range of semi-finished contact products spanning numerous applications. However, pure silver cannot always meet the differing requirements of the contact materials.
The development of silver alloys produced by melting metallurgy and silver composites produced by powder metallurgy therefore considerably extends the range of properties of silver-based materials. Our range of silver-based contact materials includes fine silver and various silver alloys as well as silver-based composite materials such as silver-nickel (AgNi), silver-tin oxide (Ag/SnO2), silver-graphite (AgC), silver-tin oxide-indium oxide (Ag/SnO2/In2O3), silver-zinc oxide (Ag/ZnO), silver-iron (AgFe) and silver-tungsten.
